About the Sooke Spring Sprint Triathlon

After the Finish Line

Thank you to everyone for making the Team X Sooke Sprint Triathlon a success. This was our first venture into hosting a triathlon and despite a few minor details; we are very pleased with the outcome. We will be having a debriefing meeting to see how we can improve on things for next year to make it even more successful; I have some ideas.

It takes an enormous amount of work and people to pull off an event and I had a top-notch team working beside me: Debbie Jackson, Steve Chater, Jill Chater, Gary Daniels, Sarah Ellwood, CK Tang, Sara DePol, Dr. Orla MacSweeney and the rest of Team X and the Team X Juniors who all pitched in. Thanks to Barb Thompson, the previous Race Director who guided us and Jackie Eddy who coordinated the bike course.

I have to thank all our wonderful volunteers, without you there would not be a race. To the bike/run marshals, it is not easy to stand out in the chilly April weather for hours on end, but you were a very enthusiastic group and for that I am so grateful.

I would like to give a huge thanks to our sponsors:

Thanks to Tony Austin for taking all the photos. Anyone wishing to order a photo can do so by going on to his website.

Parkway Physio and Massage – awesome group of people! They are the best in town so give them a call when you need a fix or a relaxing massage.

Seaparc Leisure Staff were unbelievable to work with. They went above and beyond their duties so thank you so much.

Lost and Found

I have a pair of smelly sneakers on my patio deck keeping the raccoons away so to whom they belong to please call me.
See you all next year!

Results and photos have been posted.
